The workshop provides a treatment of the Toyota Kata’s theoretical framework as well as its practical application. \nThe theoretical rationale for the Toyota Kata includes a preference for the use of the scientific method\, the use of deliberate practice in the development or transitioning of mental models\, and the deployment of organizational continuous improvement. \nThe practical application includes how data is collected for determining the current condition (diagramming\, process characteristics\, process metrics\, and outcome metrics)\, and the development of a target condition. Workshop content also includes determining obstacles and the cycling of PDCA (plan\, do check\, act) experiments. \nThe workshop is not a simulation of any business process but is rather a demonstration of how the Toyota Kata applies to confronting challenging situations\, including continuous improvement.
